Chief Executive Officer, Dino Patel, founded Duke Hospitality in 2005 and has over thirty years of hospitality ownership and operator experience. For most of the 80’s and 90’s, Mr. Patel owned several limited service hotels which he single-handedly renovated and operated. His focused and strategic efforts led to an important milestone when in 2005, he was approved to build and operate his first Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. It was at that time that his dream of Duke Hospitality came to life. He realized that in order to grow, he needed corporate leadership that was highly accountable and extremely motivated. Today the company portfolio has expanded from two properties to six with another four scheduled for development. The dream was further realized when in early 2008, construction was completed on a 7500 sq. ft. office building, which is now home to the Duke Hospitality leadership team.
Our corporate culture was born from the entrepreneurial spirit of the small business owner. Although our organization has grown to over 150 associates, our focus remains on each individual hotel, investor and associate, each having their own specific needs.
All of our associates are treated as part of a family. Just like in a family, the collective success depends on each member’s shared commitment to hard work and accountability. Just like in a family, support must be given to those who face difficulty or need extra attention. We strive to create a fun and uplifting atmosphere and believe that community service is a vital part of giving back to the areas that support our hotels. At Duke, we look to promote from within and strive to provide the tools necessary for our associates to advance in the hospitality industry. It is through this philosophy that our associates look at their positions as more than just jobs and strive to not only meet, but exceed their potential.
The same is true from an investment perspective. No two hotels are the same and each is given its own strategic focus in order to maximize returns. At Duke Hospitality, you can be assured that your investment is not part of a culture of spending owner money in a never-ending effort to promote the management company. Our pride and success stems solely from the quality of the performance of each investment.

We believe that it is our responsibility to be involved with the needs of the communities in which we operate. We take pride in community relationships we’ve built, and work to make a positive difference in these areas. Beyond being a reliable partner for these markets, we believe it is critical to the overall success of our hotel operation. However, these values aren’t just about improving customer perception, but more importantly, about our giving back to the neighbors that support us.
At Duke, we understand the importance of environmentally responsible practices and look to be a leader in energy efficient design and operations. Hotels currently in the design and construction phase are incorporating cutting edge energy efficient building systems. All of our hotels participate in water conservation practices, energy efficiency best practices and recycling programs.
Our most recent hotel to open, the 112-key, newest generation Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Duluth, GA was our first hotel to incorporate solar power. On top of the roof sits a 35.5 kw photovoltaic system capable of adding a significant amount of auxiliary power to the hotel. With the cost of solar energy on the decline and owner payback periods at a minimum, Duke Hospitality is now incorporating the feasibility of renewable energy in all future projects. These practices are not only environmentally friendly, but can also provide several different long-term financial benefits to the hotel.
As an independent and growing company, Duke Hospitality is a place for high-achievers who thrive on the accountability and high impact experienced in a dynamic, high-growth environment. At Duke Hospitality, you’ll be surrounded with others who are inspired daily by the passion to deliver exceptional service all while in a family-oriented atmosphere where personal attention to every associate is never overlooked.
At Duke Hospitality, we understand the challenges of job training in a fast-paced, technology driven environment. We work with all new members of our team in a one-on-one and online setting long before they ever step foot into our hotels. This ensures that all associates, regardless of their position, are given the tools they will need to be successful from the moment they begin to take care of our guests. As standards and procedures change over time, training is ongoing so that you are kept up-to-date on new company and brand initiatives.
